Khoya Khoya Chand Songs Download

One thing ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’ succeeds in doing is transporting you to a different world. Now, whether you like that world is another question. The film is a passionate tribute to the cinema and film industry of the 1950s and early 60s. And at the heart of it, there is a good story as well. Sudhir Mishra , who has shown creative imaginations of his retrospective eye in previous films, pretty much manages to take you to the colourful times of the black-and-white era, thanks to impressive art direction (Gautam Sen) and brilliant cinematography (Sachin). What goes against the film is its long duration, and also the style of acting Sudhir told his actors to do. It is understandable that even five decades back into the past, in real life people would have expressed simple emotions like love, joy, jealousy and sadness in pretty much the same way as today. However, the acting styles in films may have been different. But in ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’ we spot the characters acting. So from this point of view, despite all the technical finesse of the present age, the film has been made as a director of the 50s would have done it. This, my dear friends, could be a positive or a negative for the movie depending on your individual cinematic taste. For me it was a negative. Nikhat ( Soha Ali Khan ), a struggling starlet with an over-ambitious surrogate mom, has to endure many ugly realities of the film world and please people to get her foothold in the industry. With favours from a big star Prem Kumar ( Rajat Kapoor ) Soha’s career soars high, but in return she has to please him as and when he wishes. In comes the struggling writer-director Zaffer ( Shiney Ahuja ), a man who doesn’t mince words to sound pleasing to the gorgeous starlet. A bond develops between them as Zaffer helps Nikhat with her dialogues. What follows is Zaffer and Nikhat’s struggle, both as individuals and as couple, to deal with their tumultuous emotions, the recurring attraction and repulsion, the pull and push. Though simple, the film’s story has a strong emotional undercurrent arising out of conflict between love and ego, between affection and ambition.Unarguably, Soha Ali Khan has been given a very complex role to enact and she does shine in many scenes. And after seeing how convincing she looks in the 50s makeover, you could be forgiven for thinking that she is born in a wrong age.Shiney Ahuja has become a tad too comfortable in brooding roles. Not that he doesn’t flash a few grins – but when he does so, you catch him acting.Sonya Jehan looks stunning and performs at par with her looks. Rajat Kapoor, expectedly, sinks his teeth into his character and brings out its regression from morally depraved to distressed. Vinay Pathak , playing an assistant director, is brilliant yet again, while Sourabh Shukla, as a chubby financier, delivers some choicest of dialogues.Another strong point of the film is its music by Shantanu Moitra who has composed tunes and melodies that bring back nostalgia of those times. The problem with ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’ is that instead of giving us a few glimpses of what Mr. Mishra calls the “golden times” of Indian cinema, it floods us with too many insider tales, anecdotes, and incidents from that era. While not all of us may be able to pick every one of them out, there are strong parallels that can be seen with some of the celebrities or artists of the 50s. Zaffer’s breaking down while shooting a scene and forgetting to say ‘cut’ is a clear reference to a legendary director of that era.The thing is, ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’ is a work of indulgence. It is Mishra’s grateful tribute to the times he loves. For his passion and for his meticulous attention to recreating that era, this movie deserves more than two points.Rating: **1/2

Dus Kahaniyaan Songs Download

When it comes to musical styling, movie maverick Sanjay Gupta has risen to the occasion every time (DUS, KAANTE, MUSAFIR, and ZINDA) in imbibing traits of numerous genres, talents and flairs into one munificent packaging. DUS KAHANIYAN, a hitherto effort(3 CD Pack) showcasing music par poetry excellence (similar to NAMASTEY LONDON) is fantabolous offering that delivers entertainment through 26 original soundtracks (6 club versions, 11 lounge versions,11 poems) from range of talents. Debutante composers like Bappa Lahiri, son of Bappi Lahiri and Gourov Dasgupta proves to be swashbuckling entrants for their trendy flamboyance. Besides these promising prodigies, contemporary Anand Raj Anand supercedes all his recent average efforts while Paki pop sensation Shafqat Ali Khan graduates potentially to composer’s mantle. Gulzar’s poetical expressions (in “Poems” CD edition) surmounting the theatrical exquisites of ten different stories are an added class listener’s delight.

Gourov Dasgupta’s first tryst with uproarious trendy musical thump in “Dus” is scintillating package of thunderous sounds, pulsating rhythms and vociferous outburst. This emblematic offering has outrageous and belligerent vocals of KK and Anchal where “Gregorian Chants” stylized signature tunes sizzles vigorously with pugnaciously punched arrangements. DJ Aqueel’s “club” aesthetics gives it a “cool” dancing floor make-over in its remix version with snazzy DJ scratches, spins and disco beat fillers making best of it in its racy flows.

Like “Maahiye” (KAANTE) and “Zinda Hoon Main” (ZINDA), Sanjay Gupta’s peculiar flashy feminine voluptuous binge plunges into another groovy belligerent textures of seductive singing and ear-splitting disco flows in seductive “Jaaniye”. Gruffly throated Sunidhi Chauhan leads the show while Aanchal gets another stunningly hot track that can really set the dance floors on fire. Dasgupta along with Roshan Balu makes another glittering move in its “club-house” pulsating remix version where yelling vocals along with rollickingly disco flows creates a commotion of affairs on floors.
Sudhanshu Pandey (one of lead vocalist of “Band of Boys”) resurrects his “lost in woods” singing career in a stylish rock cum jazz (blend of guitar riffs cum saxophone notes) love track along with Shweta Vijay in impressive “Aaja Soniye”. Virag Mishra’s poetic flows along with Sudhanshu’s Indi-pop fling lend a brilliant mantle for Dasgupta’s finesse in furnishing a potential love ballad. Even it’s “club” remix has rhythmical drumming that coordinates well with booming vocals in pulsating disco beat fillers backdrop.

“Nach Le Soniye” brings back the Punjabi yore of Mika where one can expect boisterous concert buzz but the sparkling zest of “Mauja Hi Mauja” is missing. “O Mahiya”, an echoing and pulsating love ballad brings out the racy vocal charms of Shweta Vijay along with KK with loads of electronic sounds. It’s “club” remix has intrinsically “club-house” belligerently flowing elements that will be adding delight to the floors.
DUS KAHANIYAN is an epitome of Bollywood’s musical affluence and versatility that nurtures and grooms up entertainment for all segments of listeners. Undeniably it will be among best selling albums of this year and will be adding many talents to the musical fraternity with some really chartbusting hits to its credits.

A Perfect DUS Album!

Showbiz Songs Download

Bhatt camp affixation and infatuation with Paki pop sensation takes a back seat with their latest outing SHOWBIZ, a film about the dark side of show business. Lalit Pandit gets his second major endeavor in the marquee by improvising his potential as solo composer. The veteran composer, who cherished amiably with the brand name of Jatin-Lalit, tries to rehash and rejuvenate Pritam’s magical “rock-mania” charms successfully in two hot-shot rock soundtracks but later album sinks without any trace. After modest DHOKHA, Bhatt’s SHOWBIZ proves too insufficient in terms of style as well as substance for the standards they have set up in their last few chartbusting offerings.

Lalit Pandit carries forward the enthralling soft rock music aesthetics set up by flamboyant Pritam as he chooses his favorite man KK to flourish with the most sparkling singing offering in ostentatiously chartbusting “Tu Mujhse Jab Se Mila”. This “full of life” concert bonanza tries to strike chord with KK previous hits like “Kya Mujhe Pyar Hai” (WOH LAMHE) and “Alvida” (LIFE IN A…METRO) for its vigorous guitar sauntering passions where hi-pulsating electronica music makes it even more merrier. Lalit Pandit strikes his first major blow as solo composer in this Sayed Quadri’s well penned track after delivering moderate hits like “Hum Khushi Ki Chah Mein” and “Vallah Vallah” (LIFE MEIN KABHI KABHI), his introductory solo album. The second version comes in trendy “hip-hop” rendition where Earl does all emceeing with slightly sluggish tempo and chilled-out orchestrations. This happy-go-lucky version is likely to be hotter than the original version, so get into the groove with its infectious beat patterns to shake a leg with its invigorating hip-hop thrust.

KK proves to be “rock-star” of the album as he chills out with another heart-throbbing soft rock trailblazer in sentimentally penned “Mere Palak Ka Tu Hai Sitara”. This extra high on “tempo” racy number clubs trendy electronic arrangements, enthralling orchestrations with KK’s rip-roaring vocals sensationalizing it with its peculiar yore and yell. Pandit’s rises above from mediocrity from his last works and delivers some fine hard rock musical works in its interludes while maintaining the tempo of this flashy emotional number. The “unplugged” version has euphoric shades of “Hum Khushi Ki Chah Mein” with drop-dead silent piano notes, nimble flute notes and mild percussive works supporting KK’s promising vocals. Its sentimental hues depict the eternal strength and wisdom of the innermost sentiments depicted through inspiring writing and heart-warming singing.

Taare Zameen Par Songs Download

Now this one has arrived almost 'chupke se'! While most other biggies featuring the top bracketed actors/film makers make a lot of noise (sometimes deserving, sometimes not so deserving) for both the movie and the music release, Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par has silently arrived in a subtle manner, just like the simplicity the movie itself conveys. With Prasoon Joshi doing the lyrics, one expects a sensitive outing ahead. From Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, who have enjoyed a great 2007 so far, one expects nothing but a high quality score in Taare Zameen Par.

Remember the tinkle sound in 'Meri Duniya Tu Hi Re' [Heyy Babyy]? Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy take a cue from the same sound to carry forward the title song 'Taare Zameen Par'. To the credit of the composer trio, Shankar Mahadevan who takes the onus on himself to come behind the mike and supporting vocals of Bugs Bhargava, Dominique Cerejo, Vivinenne Pocha that the song turns out to be a heartwarming outing.

It is a difficult song to create due to various reasons. a) It is slow moving which means that beats cannot camouflage/overtake the melodious intent of the song, b) It requires a singer of high caliber to croon since the focus is entirely on voice due to hardly any instruments being in the background, c) Prasoon Joshi's lyrics follow a poetic route which means double the effort for the composers to think innovatively. Still, the end product is such that even if it won't be sung aloud by a man on the street (that was never an intent to begin with), Taare Zameen Par would make for an emotional cinematic viewing.

Halla Bol Songs Download

Ashfaque (Ajay Devgan) is a small town boy aspiring to be a film star in the Hindi film industry. He joins a street theatre group run by a reformed dacoit Sidhu (Pankaj Kapur) who uses street theatre as a medium to bring about an awakening in the masses. Ashfaque struggles to give a creative vent to the actor in him in order to realize his dreams.

Ashfaque’s determined struggle pays off and he gets a break in films. He gets a new screen name - Sameer Khan. With the passage of time, the roles start becoming better and he moves up the success ladder in a very short time. Soon, he becomes Sameer Khan the superstar - one who can enact any role with finesse, get under the skin of any and every character with ease and walk away with audience applause.

Sadly, amidst all adulation and applause, he slowly loses his own identity. He forgets his real self and imbibes all characteristics of the various roles essayed by him on screen. Corruption takes over his entire system, alienating him from all loved ones, including his wife Sneha (Vidya Balan).

A shocking incident at a party changes everything, rocking Sameer Khan’s lifestyle. He gets caught between his human self on one side and his corrupted superstar image on the other.

Whether the conflict within him gives way to good sense and whether he is able to discard his corrupted image and emerge as a true life hero, becomes an integral part of this true life cinema.

WELCOME Songs Download

Welcome'is the next Akshay Kumar slated for release at the fag end of the year. The actor has had a fantastic year and is being talked of as being no less than Shah Rukh Khan, where popularity is concerned. In fact, the rise of this actor has gone primarily unnoticed with the media running around SRK and the other Khans while Akshay has silently gone in for the kill. However, unlike his previous hit, Heyy Babyy, which had music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the music of Welcome is not such a welcome sound to the ears. The music of this Firoz Nadiadwala film, directed by Anees Bazmee, has been composed by quite a few composers and hence there is no consistency to the album. There is Himesh Reshammiya, Anand Raj Anand and Sajid-Wajid involved in the business of creating music for the film. Somehow the expected effect is not forthcoming and the music album of Welcome is just slightly above mediocre.

However, having said that, the album begins with quite a bang. The title song, 'Welcome'kind of sets the mood for a fun time ahead. This number has been composed by Sajid-Wajid and singers Shaan and Soumya Raoh lend their voices to the number, with composer Wajid chipping in as well. The composers have used trumpets and a lot of orchestration to give the song a grand party feel. The number has an almost visual feel to it and one is sure that 'seeing'the song will just add to this number's popularity.
